Bart was so excited. He was finally going to see Lyssa again. It was so hard to keep a relationship going when one was in school and the other was working too much. He wished that he had been able to fail last year. He had tried, but it hadn't worked and he could think of two reasons why it didn't: A) he was too smart to fail or B) the teachers were tired of him. He was smart, but Bart was sure that it was more of the latter than former. Lyssa had been in his mind 24/7 when they weren't together, counting down the days until they could always be together. Only a few more months until she graduated school.
He grinned as he got dressed. Actually, he'd been smiling all day. He couldn't help it. He wanted to smile. He had to smile. There was no way that he could stop. In just a few short hours, he would be holding his girl in his arms. Bart wanted the time to go quickly, but he was sure that it would go slow. He tucked in his shirt, put on his vest, watch, then sprayed some cologne on and sat down and put his shoes on. When he was ready, he looked at his watch. d*mn, he was ready too early.
Bart looked at himself in the mirror and wondered if she would like his hair. It was starting to get too long for his liking, so he had it sort of shaved. Bart wasn't totally bald, but he was fairly close to it. If she didn't like it, he would grow it out again. Anything to make her happy. He decided that it was time to leave. Sure, it was early, but he wanted to get there. Maybe she'd come early. He ran out of his small, two bedroom apartment and took the knight bus to the leaky cauldron.
He didn't see her when he got off the bus and she wasn't there when he walked inside, so Bart took a seat at a small table for two and watched the door, hardly able to contain his excitement about seeing her again.
