come on, come out the weather is warm The forbidden forest… nobody was supposed to be there, but did anyone really follow that rule? He himself had been there often since his first year. It reminded him of the place where he and his sister was when she was killed. The only difference was that it wasn’t as habited as that was. Kong has yet to run into any animals in there and he goes pretty deep. He has gone in practically to the middle of the forest. He had only seen unicorns, but nothing else. Too bad Mulan… she loved unicorns, but everyone said that they didn’t exist. There was no reason for him to think about this. It would just upset him. There were plenty of other things for him to think about.
The rain had ended earlier in the day and the sun was shining now. Good thing the cool breeze remained. He wore a gray coat and black jeans. In an inside pocket of the coat was his note pad and pen. He had to carry that everywhere he went as he wasn’t very good with English yet. It was weird how he could understand it and write it, but he couldn’t speak it. English had to be the hardest language ever to learn. Kong had to blame the orphanage though. If they had allowed him to learn it, he’d probably be able to speak it now. Instead all they did was laugh at him and tortured him for showing interest in it. He hated it there and was glad that he was out of there.
He knelt down at the edge of the forest and started a fire. This was more relaxing than the common room at the moment. There were too many people there and Kong had started to feel a little claustrophobic. He couldn’t be around too many people at the same time. It became too noisy with too many people talking at one time. How could anyone stand that? Alone with nature and his thoughts was the way that life was intended to be lived. Not many people cared about nature it seemed. They were around it all the time, but not many people really looked at the trees or flowers and leaves. It was rather sad if you thought about. So much beauty, but nobody to really notice it.
He leaned against the tree trunk and looked in front of him, wondering if anyone was going to disturb him. Kong didn’t want much company, but one or two friends would be okay. Hopefully nobody that’ll pick a fight with him would show up. He wasn’t in the mood for a fight. He sighed contentedly as his mind went blank, completely blank. All his worries were gone for right now and there was nothing wrong with the world. a spot in the shade away from it all

((squee for the Death Note pic ^^))
Hallie had needed to get out of the castle as well, though for a completely different reason than claustrophobia or anything of the sort. Memories had been catching up with her again, and she had needed to get out of the vicinity of other people in case she was unable to rein herself in and keep herself from breaking down as she occasionally did. If she broke down now, she would never hear the end of it. Especially not in front of some of her Slytherin comrades. It was just not something that was done, or not something she felt should be done. Even if... well, even if they had been in Slytherin... she couldn't see it being all that accepted. And so she had left and moved out onto the grounds.
The Forbidden Forest was a good location to do so she thought. Even though hardly anyone ever paid any attention to the idea of it being off limits she figured it was big enough she could go in and compose herself without running into any fellow students. She felt fairly certain she could protect herself from anything else and so she could be comforted with that fact.
The weather was sunny outside, seeming to pick up on the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes and mocking it as she walked towards the comfort of the trees where she spent so much time nowadays. They gave her a great place to get thoughts and feelings out as well as just have alone time. They seemed to almost call out to her as she approached them and went to enter.
However, another spot of interest caught her eye before the sixth year Slytherin could completely enter the forest. There was a flicker on the edge that looked much like a flame. Despite the fact that it was most likely started by a student, she wanted to make sure that a fire had not started in the forest so it could be dealt with before the forest burned down. Her steps angled that way, she began to approach the flame.
It became apparent that it was a person who was standing guard over the flame, or rather kneeling by said flames and leaning against the tree. She tried to get a better look at the man in front of her. And a jolt of recognition ran through her and she felt herself crack through the last of her resolve.
It looked like Patrick. Whoever he was (if it was even someone else) could have been Patrick's twin if they'd only been a bit older.... But her heart let out a jolt of hope even though tears coursed down her face. "P... Patrick?" she queried of the person, knees shaking as she threatened to fall. "I.... is that... you?" her voice was shaking nearly as much as her knees as she fought not to fall completely. Could it be? Was he back?
She waited for a response.
