Abraxas was exhausted. That fact as made obvious by his position in the courtyard, leaning back against a tree trunk, eyes half open and him nearly diving into the realms of sleep under said tree. It was the position of someone half dead from a night of little sleep, and that was exactly what had happened. A combination of a heavy homework load and a nightmare had killed the amount of sleep he had gotten last night and now he was paying for it.
His school bag was under the tree beside him, and the book he had been attempting to be reading from lay on top of it, open to a page but obviously not being read at the moment, as Rax's face was not facing it nor did his eyes seem to be anywhere near focused on the page. He was listless, as if someone had robbed every ounce of energy and it was taking all his energy just to keep his eyes open and in the realm of consciousness.
There were dull thoughts on the surface of his mind... and the slight thought that he probably should not be falling asleep in the Courtyard where he was prey to Gang members and such. He knew that a great deal of them would like to do some violent things to the Malfoy who had decided to shirk convention and join the Army. That gave him a near double death sentence, and the Gryffindor acknowledged it.
However, the exhaustion could not be helped nor stopped, and he felt like his eyelids were weighed down with lead. They drooped occasionally as if he were giving in to sleep, only to snap open again. He knew he should probably relocate to the Common Room or his own bed, but he couldn't seem to bring up the energy to do so. Finally, the lids drooped down and did not snap back up. The fourth year Malfoy was asleep for the moment.. and it was uncertain how long he would remain that way.

There was a lot going on in Scorpius’s life lately, as his mind was starting to slowly go through so of the challenges life presented. He had to meet up with a few friends they were going to figure out what to do with their dear ol’friend Cruento. He decided that he’d cut through the courtyard in order to meet up with them. He also knew that not many people were in the courtyard so he shouldn’t have to worry about running into anyone or getting confronted by anyone especially be questioned about him and Rose Weasley.
Scorpius walked clear across the court he was on his way to meet up with a few friends when he noticed a bump in the lawn. He smirked as he realized that it was his brother. He glanced around and he just couldn’t pa*s up the chance or opportunity. He pulled out his wand and spun it around in his hand before he aimed it at his brother only to pull the book from Rax, “Aguamenti.” He said then soaked his brother. He chuckled slightly before he leaned against the tree. “What has you so beat?” He glanced to the book as it still got a little damp but not as wet as his brother then dropped the book back onto him carefully. He did enjoy giving his brother a hard time but also figured that his brother knew he’d be there for him if Rax needed him.
He had to wonder if his brother was doing alright or if something was wrong as he never knew his brother to have sleepless nights or anything really bothering him. But then again, that was also usually around the manor. He glanced around to make sure that no one could have done anything to Rax then looked back to his brother. “Something going on?” he questioned. He plucked the damp book from Rax and started to carefully flip through it before he closed it and tossed it carefully on the ground before his brother. “It’s damp. Let it dry out.” He stated.

Abraxas had known he shouldn't have fallen asleep in the Courtyard where he was easy prey to any number of things that people could decide to do, but he had anyway. He had been too tired to move for the moment, and sleep had been the only option. Even if it wasn't the smartest thing to do it had happened. And he had been sound asleep until the sudden deluge of water that covered him in a manner that could only be magic-worked and fueled by someone. It was cold and wet nonetheless, and unpleasant to have that be what you were woken up to.
And so, sputtering and shocked by the water, Abraxas was dragged out of the realm of sleep and back into the land of the living, blue eyes searching for the source of the water, the culprit in waking him up. Which he was mixture of surprised and unsurprised when he saw that it was his older brother, standing there with the obvious look of the one who had done it. Besides, there was no one else really around so it made sense that it was him. Sleep deprived minds took time to figure these things out...
Despite their differences, Rax was happy to see Scorpius. He did have respect for his older brother, and a great deal of it. Even though he was in the Army, he doubted he could ever do something directly against Scor. There was just too much history. "Aren't you busy to be wasting your time soaking siblings?" Rax asked, a slight note of humor in his voice. He was still tired, yes, but he could put on a face of energy for his brother. "And, to answer your questions, a lot of things have me beat. Schoolwork, lack of sleep, the usual...," he responded. "But you don't have to worry cause nothing major's going on," he said.

Scorpius was absolutely amused by watching his brother wake to the sudden indulgence of water. He also had to chuckle lightly at the light scent of humour that his brother had found. He wasn’t stupid either. He knew that it couldn’t have been just nothing to keep the youngest Malfoy awake. He started to wonder if it wasn’t just a Malfoy sleeping thing since he too didn’t really get much sleep at night and he managed to keep going. Yet there have been times where he’d crash and sleep for a few good days.
He thought about the question finally, shaking his head, “No.” He said simply still showing that he was amused. “I’m not ever too busy for my brother or the chance to soak him.” he added. He could see that his brother was exhausted. He didn’t understand how his brother seemed to be having trouble with school work or why he was not getting enough sleep at night. “Having trouble with a particular cla*s?” he questioned, still keeping things light as he glanced to his brother. “Why the lack of sleep?”
He smirked and laughed slightly as he heard his brothers slight brush off. “Raxas, like it or not you’re stuck with me watching over you.” He said before he took a seat and leaned against the tree. “Nightmares? Terrors? Noise? Being picked on? Or a Girl?” he questioned. He was sure that if he thought about it, he could come up with more reasons as to why someone may not sleep but those were the ones at the top of his list. “Or is it that I’m trying to graduate out of Hogwarts early and you’re worried about what things will be like when your big brother is gone?” he smirked. He knew full well that it probably wouldn’t be the last one but he decided to throw it in there too.

While still being exhausted, the water had woken up the younger Malfoy son considerably from the state he had been in before he had fallen asleep. At least he could keep his eyes open for long periods of time without them drooping dangerously close to being closed. He was awake enough now, and probably wouldn't fall asleep on his older brother. That was certainly a good thing. He was sure Scorpius would not approve of him doing so. Plus, he hadn't seen Scorpius in a while and so it was nice to see him. Sleeping wouldn't allow that.
He chuckled slightly at Scorpius's comment. "Well that's good. I might just have to feel abandoned if that were the case," he responded, keeping the light mood up. Light moods were always the best and left the least room for conflict. It seemed like Scor was concerned for him and his condition at the moment. Which was probably just a result of the fact that his brother was overreacting a bit to his exhaustion. It was just the amount of work, not necessarily that he was struggling... And nightmares didn't help get sleep either. He wasn't sure he wanted to fill his brother in on those however... "Nah, its not a particular cla*s or anything. Its just like they're trying to get us ready for O.W.L.s this year or something... they're giving us a lot of work and it means staying up late," he said in response.
Rax nodded, chuckling a bit at the response. Yes, he knew he was never going to get rid of his older brother's protection over him, but that was a natural thing between siblings even if they didn't get along. But the matters Scorpius brought up did need to be addressed for his own peace of mind as well as the fact that it would not have to worry Scorpius anymore. "Its not being picked on... if I was worried about that I would have turned in on myself a long time ago. And its not really a girl either... " he responded. "I guess you could say I've had some nightmares... but they're nothing major... and its normal..." he was trying to write it off. "So they're just causing a bit of sleep deprivation, but I should be fine in no time." "You do bring up a good point... If you leave that's going to leave me open to a lot more harra*sment from the Gang and other people who generally don't like me. Even if I'm not a gang member, being related to you helps give me some amnesty."

Scorpius had a lot going on in his life right now but when he knew something was up he always took care of his siblings first. As far as he saw it regardless of his brother’s placing and choices he was the only one allowed to really do anything to his brother and vice versa. In his eyes everyone else was to leave his brother alone. He leaned against the tree as his mind ran while he listened to his brother as he took what he said lightly. Yet he knew that if he had to pull or send his brother back to the Manor over his sleeping he would.
He smirked at the sound of slight laughter. “No abandonment. That was Draco’s department.” He stated lightly but a hint of bitterness seeped into his tone at the mention of their father’s name. He glanced at his brother knowing that Rax knew the truth but wouldn’t share. He was concerned with the well-being of his brother knowing that lack of sleep can create problems elsewhere. “You know I’d help you with the work if you just ask.” He stated calmly as he picked a blade of gra*s and started to fold slowly and carefully like it was the delicate flower petal that he was trying not to break or destroy. “I’d offer my notes but I don’t know if you’d be able to read them.” he added with a smirk. He shrugged slightly, “Don’t worry about the O.W.L.S. You’ll do fine. You’re a natural and if nothing else a little practice with your older brother and you’ll be a shoe in.”
He glanced over his shoulder to his brother as he listened. He noticed a little hesitation with his brother. “Gang members picking on you again?” he questioned in a slightly more serious tone. "We do have some new members, I'll have to deal with them if they are." He knew that a few of the members like to target him regardless. There has been new members to the gang lately so he figured that it was problem one of them since the older ones knows what he’d do if he caught any of them picking on his brother. He smirked slightly over the girl response, “Is there a girl?” he enquired as he looked back to the blade of gra*s before he dropped it. “How long has these nightmares been going on?” he glanced over to his brother, “What are they about?” he picked another blade of gra*s as he waited for his response to the questions.
He took in consideration for Callie in his absence and made arrangements for her when he left. He was still working on the arrangements over his brother. Yet, with the way Rax just worded it, he started to second think leaving the school. He didn’t really think that through everything Rax really relied on his reputation. He knew that once he was out of Hogwarts, he couldn’t very well return to the grounds. He did smirk at the thought that his reputation did cover him regardless of the paths they chose. “Callie has that same thought about my absence here. I haven’t fully decided what I’m going to do with the gang yet. I haven’t decided if I’m going to dismiss it completely or hand it over to the one person it deserves to go to.” He said, “Besides, we don’t even know if I can pa*s all those.” He added as he glanced to his brother. “Technically, this should be my last year anyway.” He flicked the blade of gra*s as if he was annoyed. “And eventually you and Callie would have to spend some time here without me. But don’t you think I’d make sure that both of you are okay? And safe before I left?” he questioned as he glanced to Rax to see if he picked out the protection and concern that he knew he’d be leaving with. He also wondered if Rax picked up on the simple fact that he knew once he left Hogwarts he couldn’t come back to defend his siblings, but he knew that he would find a way.
After a moment of silence that he chose to take to think about things, he smirked, “Maybe I shouldn’t leave Hogwarts just yet.” He said, “Callie and Kota are all for it only because with me out of Hogwarts it will eliminate Rose Weasley and Dannielle Wood from my life.” He added in an amused tone with a slight laugh.
