Night was approaching, and approaching fast. Which shouldn't have been a problem. Wouldn't have been for most students in the school, who were probably off doing homework or eating dinner or any sorts of various activities. It was just a normal part of the school cycle, of the day cycle... of the lunar cycle... Which was the main problem for Evie on such a night.
She'd been off kilter the past few days as the full moon approached, her lycanthropy almost sensing the fact that the time of change, the time of turning was fast approaching... And now, on this night, it was finally here. As soon as the sun completed its going down... as soon as it set completely and the moon rose into the sky she would be gripped by the terrible curse she had inherited over the previous summer...
And so the fifth year Slytherin had slipped away from all the homework and the chatting, the friends and the books, the hustle and bustle of the castle to run towards the forest, frantic that she would not get away in time. It was probably one of the most serious moments in the young woman's life... And it was because she knew she had to get away. Get away from everyone. If anyone was near her when she turned... changed... whatever you wanted to call it... she could very well kill them.
The sun was close to setting as she dashed through the forest, running, running, looking for a deep and secluded spot where she could make her transformation. Stopping at a small clearing, panting and breathing heavily she looked up into the sky for the tell-tale white orb that would signal and start the change.
It was far enough away and there was no one here, so she felt it was safe. And so she sat, leaning against a tree trunk and panting as night rapidly started fading in. She was waiting... waiting quietly for the curse to grip her and for the chaos of a night as a werewolf began.
Evie had to accept it, and so she did. Only hopefully it would result in no harm...
