Lorcan was out all day, visiting funerals homes. Almost all of them had funerals going on and he pretended to be a friend or something of the deceased. Nobody would dare to tell someone in mourning to leave and with his all black, semi casual outfit; he did indeed look like he was in mourning. He sat there, talking to people, but their grief was driving him up a wall. He had contemplated asking Shay to go with him, but after seeing her dancing with Albus Potter and remembering what Lysander told him about Scorpius Malfoy, he wasn’t sure about them anymore. Lorcan loved her, but if she would prefer someone in the gang, he would not stand in her way. If you love something, let it go. That same thing could be said for a human.
The funeral homes closed and he received instructions to the church and cemetery, but odds are, he wouldn’t go. He hardly ever did. While they were being buried, more people were having viewings and he went to this. Sometimes, he would visit the graves of those he already visited, but not too often. It was so funny how you could make people you don’t even know like you, just for being nice to them. Though he wasn’t really that nice, people tended to look at him as such. At viewings, he helped them through their grief. If they knew him for what he was, he would be hated, but they didn’t see him as a strange wizard that didn’t even fit in the house that he was in. Anymore, nobody fit in their house unless if they were evil and in the gang. Every house meant that you were up to no good.
He made it back to the school about midnight and walked casually downstairs, like he’d been there all along. He wasn’t looking forward to what he had to do in an hour and hopefully, Shay will be late. Lorcan didn’t want to break up with her and wouldn’t until he was sure that she wasn’t falling for people she said were just friends. He got into the common room without being seen and grinned when he saw that it was empty. He went upstairs and changed into a black pair of shorts and a black muscle shirt, his usual pajamas and went back downstairs, where he lit a fire and sat in a chair closest to it. Lorcan wasn’t cold, but it seemed more relaxing with it on. He needed that. He moved the chair opposite him closer and put his feet up on it and leaned back, slouching a bit.
He sure hoped their talk would be a simple rea*surance that she loved him and not them and that nobody would bother them. The Slytherin common room wasn’t the best place to have it, but that was all he could think of when he wrote the letter to her. Lorcan closed his eyes and waited for her, thinking about their talk and hoping that this isn’t the end of them.

Shayleigh's day was well a bit of a bore. She's been busy with her darn prefect duties and thinking of Lorcan. She loved him dearly more than anything in the world. She did hear a few things and had to straight a few people out about the silly little rumors or she just let them slide and laughed it off. She was in her bed lying down dreamingly a sleep. She was dreaming of Lorcan and couldn't believe that he was finally hers.
She suddenly woke up and looked at her watch. It was only twelve thirty and she looked out the window. And then she remembered that she needed to be downstairs at one. She was tired but she thought she may as well stay up since it was that close. She decided to stay in her black pj pants and blue tank top she had decided to wear and saw that her hair was a mess. She quickly fixed that and pulled it back into a ponytail.
She smiled at her ponytail and shrugged. It was still a good ponytail. She looked at the time and saw that it was twelve fourty-five and just couldn't wait a single minute. Walking down to the common room and saw him sitting by the fire. She had to smile and just stood there and watched him with his feet up. She saw him close his eyes and had to smile. Creeping up from behind she whispered in his ear. "Hello dear!" she said a scary whisper tone!

Lorcan rarely slept. The closest that he came, most of the time, was a few minutes with his eyes closed, like now. There was always something better to do when it came to life. After funeral homes and cemetaries closed for the evening, there were other creepy places to go. Well, places normal people might view creepy, but certainly not for Lorcan. He had fun and his time was rarely spent at school. He wouldn't be surprised if he failed this year.
He thought he heard something behind him, but ignored it and then heard Shay's voice in his ear. He opened one eye, looked at her for a minute and then opened the other one. "You'll have to try better than that to scare me," Lorcan said, laughing. "Somebody who spends his days at a viewing for some muggle he didn't even know doesn't scare easily." He saw how beautiful she looked and really didn't want to do this. Maybe he should just ignore it and hope that it wasn't true. He knew that he couldn't do that though. He broke up with people, not the other way around and he was going to make sure that this was no different.
He sighed and looked into the fire, before returning his gaze back to her. "Shay, there's something we need to talk about. The other day, I saw you and Albus Potter dancing. Not only that, I talked to my brother, and according to him, Scorpius Malfoy likes you and will try to hit on you." Lorcan looked at her seriously as he put his feet down on the ground and leaned forward, elbows resting on knees. "I can't compete with those two. If you like one of them, I mean really like them, you need to tell me. I'm not cool with having an open relationship." He paused for a moment and decided to find out for sure what she thought about him being neutral and his refusing to join the gang. "Does it bother you that I'm not in the gang and will never join it? I'd rather die than join any alliance."

Shayleigh looked at him for a moment. "Can't you just pretend to be scared sometimes?" she said for a moment. She couldn't ever figure out how to scare him yet. But she knows someday she will or may not. She didn't care however she just wanted to make him jump. She wouldn't have cared if he was faking it or not. She was always disappointed though when she couldn't scare him easily like she could with Albus.
She looked at him when he said that they needed to talk. She was surprised with what he was saying. She wasn't expecting anything like that at all. She looked at him in shocked. She thought that he knew that Scorpius is her best friend and so was Albus. It hurt her to hear him thinking that she was going to either cheat on him or already have. It seemed like he didn't trust her. She trusted him and she knew she could. He was a great guy who protects his little siblings.
She sat down right where she was standing even though there was no chair. A tear slipped from her eye as she looked up at him. "I'm not..." she said for a moment. "asking you too!" she said with a pause in between. She looked like she was going to cry. Why of all the sudden would he be jealous of the two? She looked at him for a moment. "Albus is like my brother and I would never date him. He and I have gone through so much to risk our friendship. Sure he's hyper a lot of the times and he was hyper then but you got to realize that he is one of my best friends." she told him as another tear escaped. "And as for Scorpius I would never date him either for more than one reason. One he's has one child and he's too is another one of my friendship that I don't want to risk losing. And I didn't even knew that he liked me in a different way. I've always looked up to him." she said for a moment.
She looked at him for a moment when he asked her if it bothered her that he wasn't in the gang and never will join it. "No it doesn't. And I've known that you never will join the gang. And will if you were in the DA then I'd have a problem. But it would be most likely with Scorpius." she said for a moment. "You never want to underestimate him." she said with a small frown. "I love you Lorcan and I will always love you no matter what happens. I'd do anything for you and you know it. Even if it means standing up against the Gang!" she said with a voice that said that she meant every word she just said.
