SOULMATES one day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my cla*s was walking
LIKE FAMILY home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books.
BETTER THAN AVERAGE I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a
AVERAGE FRIENDS Friday? He must really be a nerd.' I had quite a weekend planned (parties and
UNDERSTANDING EACH OTHER a football game with my friend tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged
TRUSTING EACH OTHER my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running
FRIENDS TO BE towards him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him
PARTNERS IN CRIME so he landed in the dirt. His gla*ses went flying, and I saw them land in the gra*s
FAKE FRIENDS about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My
BENEFICIAL FRIENDS heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking
SECRET FRIENDS for his gla*ses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his gla*ses, I said, 'Those
PARTY FRIENDS guys are jerks. They really should get lives.' He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!'
WANNABE FRIENDS There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real
CHILDHOOD FRIENDS gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As
FORGOTTEN FRIENDS it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before.
ENEMIES TURNED INTO FRIENDS He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have
ACQUAINTANCES never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and
FRIEND OF FRIEND I carried his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he
JUST MET wanted to play football on Saturday with me and my friends. He said yes. We hung all
SPOKE ONCE weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him. And my friends thought
SAW ONCE the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books
FRIENDS FROM THE PAST again. I stopped him and said, 'd*mn boy, you are gonna really build some
FRIEND OF THE FAMILY serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!' He just laughed and handed
FRIEND OF SISTER GREEN me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.
FRIEND OF SISTER BROWN When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on
DRINKING BUDDIES Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends,
HEARD OF that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for
WANTS TO MEET business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our cla*s . I teased him
MET WITHOUT KNOWING all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation.
SAME HOUSE I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak. Graduation day, I saw Kyle.
SAME YEAR He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He

ENVY parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach… but mostly your friends. I am here to tell
IGNORE all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell

FRIENDS TURNED INTO ENEMIES Utama. Leaving school for another school is very hurtful,
CHEATED especially when you are already in a very serious love with someone. I had this tremendous
JEALOUSY crush on him since last year. I entered Subang Utama and the first guy I fell for was
BETRAYED him, Abdul Rahman. Rahman is a very simple person. Actually, I’ve known him since
ENEMIES I was in primary as we were in the same school. I left primary and went to kuantan because
ARGUMENT my parents decided to stay there. So, there I went with no thoughts on anyone. I wasn’t
IRRITATION in love with anyone, so there weren’t very much frustrations. In kuantan, I had this feeling
DISLIKE too! But it wasn’t as big as this. To me, Rahman is born to be special to everyone. He is just
HARDCORE plain sweet to the teachers and friends. However, he isn’t very sweet to girls. He is a smart
OTHER HOUSE student and at the same time, very playful and should I say cheeky? To my surprise, all
OTHER YEAR of his best friends are my friends. One of them is Zharif. To be frank, I didn’t actually
OTHER CLa*s bump into Zharif and became friends with him. I actually seek for Rahman’s friends
FAKE ENEMIES and make them my friends. By doing that, I can actually get to know him, without
HEARD BAD THINGS actually knowing him. Zharif told me everything I should know about Rahman.
BORN TO BE ENEMIES He sat next to Rahman for 3 years! So, he must know a lot about Rahman.
ONE SIDED DISLIKE “Rahman is just plain dumb and he doesn’t bother bout girls.”, said Zharif.
NEVER HEARD OF And I went ,” yeah, whatever.”! In coincidence, I was in the same cla*s as Zharif,
NOT INTERESTED so we had so many times together talking about Rahman. Meanwhile,

FLIRTING SHAMELESSY Zharif is actually having a flirtatious look on the girl who sat next to me,
INTERESTED Ruwaydah. So, I kind of helping him to get myself helped. Sadly, both of us have the

TEMPORARY CRUSH we decided to have our love life ended as we had quite a bad luck in it. I told Zharif
CRUSH ON HER to tell Ruwaydah his feelings, he did and Ruwaydah actually needed more time to get
CRUSH ON HIM to know Zharif better. Well, Zharif’s ending wasn’t as horrible as mine. One very fine day,
SECRET CRUSH one of my cla*smates, Syazrin burst the whole thing about Rahman. After knowing my
AFRAID OF CRUSH feelings to him, Rahman laughed and didn’t actually have any feelings towards the
ONE-SIDED LOVE evil and embarra*sing news. I was there too, when that disastrous Syazrin tells the
POSSIBLE FUTURE whole drama bout me and how pathetic I was in cla*s because all I could think of
CURRENT was Rahman. So folks, tell me, who in the world would not be mad with that? So, as Syazrin
PAST RELATIONSHIP – FRIENDS get into the cla*s, I attacked him but he didn’t show any remorse.
PAST RELATIONSHIP – HATE In the end, I was the one who felt bad for being mad at him. Everyone
PAST RELATIONSHIP – CRUSH just ignored him for once. But it didn’t last long; we then had a pathetic
SECRET RELATIONSHIP pity on him and just let him join the crowd again. The days go by and I start
ONE NIGHT STAND to feel the love, coming stronger from my teachers and friends. I was so excited when
MIXED FEELINGS the day came. My last day of school. The day started out very emotional. Everyone
FORBIDDEN RELATIONSHIP was so surprised when I told them that it was my last day. On that day,
MENT TO BE i also got wish came true. Matin, my senior crush headed the Ya*sin recital. I was forced
PLAYING HARD TO GET to talk to Rahman. I didn’t want to and they said that I was going to regret it
