He patrolled the school alone, almost every night. He thought that he did a good job, getting students into trouble that deserved it and ignoring the Slytherins when they were in trouble. It was the way that it should be. Albus hated the idea of patrolling with someone, especially when he was never told who it would be. Longbottom, who was going to be killed if he didn’t give up the headmaster post, probably got an older Gryffindor kid to patrol with him. Well, if it was, he better be careful and he better realize who’s in charge. Albus wasn’t going to take any crap from him. There was no reason to get wind up now, though, he reminded himself. The one he was patrolling with wasn’t even around yet. It could be a Slytherin. He would love that.
It was time almost time to start patrolling. Albus stood by the marble staircase, waiting impatiently for whoever he was supposed to be patrolling with. He hoped that it was another Slytherin. It would be a fun night, if it was. He would be able to be fair then and continue what he always did. If it was someone from another house, he would have to get the Slytherins into trouble and they never deserved that. Albus started drumming his fingers against the banister. This was his ADHD kicking in. He had the sudden urge to run up and down the steps. In fact, he might just do that. It was a good way to burn off excess energy as he waited for whoever he was waiting for. He started running up the steps slowly and then gaining speed. It was actually really fun.
After a few minutes, the urge to run faded and he sat down on the steps to catch his breath. During the summer, he was secretly praying that Callista would get prefect, like he did, so they could patrol together. Albus didn’t understand how he was able to make prefect two years in a row, but he thought it was a great step in getting head boy next year. That was his dream. He didn’t want it for the same reasons goody-goody kids wanted it. Albus wanted it just because it gave him more power than being prefect did. As head boy, he could do just as much as a teacher did. He would be merciless on the other houses. He stretched his legs out and made the decision that if the person didn’t show up soon, he would leave and patrol without him.

Shayleigh looked at the time on the wall. She let out a small sigh. It was time to see who was patroling with her. She sure hoped it was someone from her house. The other ones are okay to talk to but it wasn't the same as her best friends. She walked up to the entrance hall and peeked looked around the corner and saw Albus sitting on the steps. She had to laugh he must have been running up and down the stairs.
She quickly grabbed her wand out and pointed it carefully at Albus. "Rictusempra!" she said as she saw the violet, purple color light and hoped that it would get him. She had always wanted to tickle him. It seemed like fun but she don't think it would have worked if she just walked up to him and tickled him on his sides. He maynot even be ticklished at all. She wondered if he was in the first place and she knew him for a very long time.
Stepping out from the door way she lift her wand out to let the charm off. "A little unguarded there are you?" she asked him for a moment. "You and Scor had always told me to be prepared for anything if I'm not mistaken." she told him on that one. She couldn't believe that the two of them were going to patrol together for the first time. "Like my new hair color?" she asked him for a moment. "Being blonde got too old had to go for a new hair color." she said with a smile on her face.

Albus was just thinking about leaving when he saw Shayleigh and he was put under the ticklish spell. He didn’t move, didn’t laugh. Sure, he was ticklish, but when he wasn’t in a good mood, you couldn’t get him to laugh or crack a smile. Albus remained as still as a statue until she lifted the spell. He stood up and shook his head. “Trying to find out if I’m ticklish? I am a little ticklish, but it doesn’t work when I’m in a bad mood. Try catching me on a good day.” Callista was usually the only one that he allowed to tickle him, but Shayleigh was his friend. He should allow it, but he probably wouldn’t. “Just be warned: I can’t be held responsible for my actions the next time you try to tickle me.” Albus gave her a twisted, wicked smile.
He shook his head. He wasn’t off his guard. Even when it looked like he was, he wasn’t. Someone tried to attack him, he would have his wand out and said person on the floor before he could utter a spell. The only reason Albus didn’t do it this time was because it was only Shayleigh and he felt no reason to have to defend himself against her. There’d been no signs of betrayal from her. He had no reason to believe that she would do anything to hurt him. “I’m always on guard, even when it appears I’m not. I could’ve stopped your spell from hitting me, but I decided not to. I wanted you to see that you couldn’t tickle me all the time.”
She had to be the one he was patrolling with. Well, he was happy now. This was going to be a fun night. There wasn’t anyone he’d rather be patrolling with, except Callista, but she wasn’t a prefect. “So, are you my partner tonight? I wasn’t told anything about who it was.” Albus then thought that perhaps she wasn’t and that she would just walk off now. He prayed that that didn’t happen. “So, do you do a good job at patrolling? Any slacking off? I’d hate to have to change my style. I’m so used to it.”

Shayleigh looked at him with a small smile. "Yeah and I'll have to remember that one!" she said with a smile on her face. She had to smile though when he warned her and she knew he actually meant it just by the wicked twisted smile he gave her. She liked seeing that smile and she didn't even care if was aimed at her. She just took it as a challenge and gave him her own twisted smile. Which probably looked funny since she hadn't done it for a very long time. "I'll keep that in mind!" she said with a smile on her face.
It was Shayleigh's turn to laugh. "Okay so where was your wand if you were prepared huh?" she asked him thinking it must be somewhere near by. She couldn't help but then realized that he was always prepared even if it didn't look like it at all. She wished he would had laughed at the tickling charm but there was always another day. And she knew it too. She wondered by that moment why they weren't moving but she didn't mind that either. "And I've never have been able too in the past!" she said with a small frown.
"Neither was I and the Head told me to meet the person I'm suppose to patrol with in the Entrance Hall and all I see is you!" she said with a smile on her face. She was glad it was him. She wouldn't know what to do if it wasn't him. She was pretty much welling to do what ever he wanted to do. "Good job yes otherwise I would have lost it by now. Of course I usually let a Slytherin go unless a Head person was there. And maybe a few other people that is well part of the Gang. And I don't want you to change your style." she said with a smile.

Albus didn’t think that she’d forget. He’d have to remember what she was planning, so it wouldn’t work. If he cracked a smile or laughed, she probably wouldn’t leave it at that. He could see her tickling him any chance she got. He wasn’t going to allow that to happen. Albus couldn’t allow her to tickle him one bit. He regretted telling her that part now. He should’ve just said that he wasn’t ticklish. Maybe that would’ve stopped her. Well, this was going to prove an interesting year.
He grinned when she asked where his wand was. He put one hand behind him and drew his wand quickly, using the tickling charm on her, hoping that it hit her. He wanted to see if she was ticklish. It would be another way to torture her. Anytime she tried it on him, he would use it on her. See if she liked it. “Because you didn’t try. You can’t come up to me and tickle me. Only Callie can do that. You have to use that spell and you didn’t. If you did, then you caught me on a bad day.” Albus put his wand in his robes. “Enough with this. We can have a tickling fight later. I guess we need to get to work now.”
She’d been told the same thing that he was. Since she was here and nobody else was, she had to be his partner. “Good. I’d hate to have to patrol with a gryffindork.” Albus nodded as she spoke. “Well, Blondie-d*mn, not going to work now. So what am I supposed to call you now? Anyways, I goof off. I don’t take it seriously. I never get the Slytherins into trouble. I turn a blind eye to them. This will prove to be a rather fun night.” Albus started up the steps. “I guess we should get started.”

Shayleigh knew for sure that she may have to figure out what to do about it. She would have to plan it out first though! Even if it meant getting help from a friend that was in love with him. She was pretty sure that Callista would be more than happy to help her out. Or at least she hoped that she would help her out. There was only one way to find out though. And that was to ask her. She will never know if she doesn’t ask her to help and it was a polite thing to do and she know she had to figure out the right moment. If not tickling she would play a prank on him and hopefully he doesn’t figure it out.
Shayleigh looked at him for a minute. The next thing she knew was that she started laughing. She didn’t mind being tickled one bit. She tried to slow down her laughing but it didn’t work much! “Okay I give!” she managed to say just before he stopped. “I did use ‘Rictusempra’ on you and it didn’t even phase you!” she said with a small smile on her face. She was a bit sad when he said the tickling fight had to end for another day though! “I guess we better! I mean what kind of Prefects would we be if we didn’t get anything done?” she asked him!
Shayleigh had to laugh at that! “To true you’d have to be serious!” she said with a frown. She smiled at what he said next! “That is why I dyed my hair to make you think of another thing instead of Blondie!” she said with a proud smile. “Just kidding. I just wanted a change of color. You know try something new!” she said with a smile on her face. She followed him up the stairs. “Hey have you heard that Dannielle Wood girl quit the DA?” she asked him with a curious smile!

Albus watched her face, wondering what was going through her head. Knowing Shay, she was probably planning on how to tickle him and make him laugh. Then again, she could always be thinking of a prank. Shay had a great mind for pranks. He had the pleasure of partnering her on a few. They were always good ones. And she always chose the best victims. Albus wondered how she made that decision. It was one of the most important decisions to make.
He chuckled as he heard what she said. She had to know the perfect time to do it. It wasn’t that hard to see when he was in a good mood. “You’re bound to get me. Just make sure you do it at the right time.” Albus did want her to get him now that he thought about it. Maybe after she got him once, she’d stop. He wasn’t one that liked being tickled. “We’d be bad ones and we may end up losing the position. We don’t want that, now do we?”
“And we both know that that is almost impossible,” he said, jokingly, but he really wasn’t joking. He couldn’t be serious if he tried. Not that he ever did. “You look better as a brunette. I’ll think of something, probably won’t involve your hair color, though. And sometimes, people need a change. I might dye my hair. What do you think of me as a blonde? People will be able to tell Alex and I apart then.” Albus paused, as he thought about it. “No, how about this? Bald! I’d look good bald, wouldn’t I?” He was getting hyper. As much as he hated looking like his father, he was never going to change his looks. Callista may not like it. “Yes, I did. And I’ve been talking to Cory Simpson and he’s not too happy with his dad right now. I promised him protection if he quits the DA. We have a chance to get them on our side.”
Albus ran up the steps and then back down. “You get to deal with a hyper Sevvie tonight! Lucky you!” He then grabbed her hand and pulled her up the steps.

Shayleigh looked at him for a moment. "Bound to get you?" she asked him for a moment. "And I'll have to remember that." she said with a smile on her face. "And what makes you think it will not be a prank instead of a tickle?" she asked him with a smile on her face. She thought she may have a prank for him soon. She would love to play one on him but she also knows that one day he may just get her back for the prank but she doesn't care. "No we don't!" she said with a smile on her face.
"I know it's almost impossible for you to do!" She said in a matter of fact tone. "In fact it's even impossible for me to do." she said with another smile on her face. She looked at him for a moment trying to picture him as a blonde. She had to laugh at that and then trying to picture him bald and she couldn't do that. "If you dyed your hair blonde that would be a funny site to see. And bald the only way I see that if you are 70 years old." she said with a smile on her face. "And are you talking about Cory Simpson the Minister of Magic's son?" she asked him for a moment. "Wow to think to have two Wood's and a Minister of Magic's son on our side is actually a nice picture." she said with a smile on her face.
She stood there as she watched him run up the stairs only to run back down the steps. She felt his hand takes her and ran up the stairs with her. "Oh boy can't wait!" she said with a smile as she ran with no choice. Well she perferred the Hyper Sevvie than the down Sevvie anyday. "I perfer you hyper than sad anyways." she said with a smile.

Albus laughed. He was sure that she would remember that. If he thought about it, he could probably come up with a million things that she could do to him. He preferred not to do that, though. They were all way too embarra*sing. Albus did hope that whatever she did to him, it wouldn’t be embarra*sing. Eddie did a lot of embarra*sing stuff to him. Oh great, Eddie. Hopefully, she didn’t go to him for ideas. “Okay, since you want to come up with something, there’s a rule you need to follow. You can’t go to my cousin Eddie for ideas.”
“It’s even more impossible to do when we are together,” he said, laughing. There was never a serious thing between them when they were together. It had been that way since they met. She was his closest friend that wasn’t family. “Hey, do you want to set up a prank in a cla*sroom, scare a teacher in the morning?” He already had one in mind, too. Reilly Moretti was the Ancient Runes professor. She’d be perfect. “I have a professor in mind. We have every right to be out, so we can’t get into trouble.” Dying his hair blonde would be funny. Maybe he should do, just to give people a good laugh. “Okay, I’ll dye my hair blonde for a day or two. I could pa*s off as Eddie’s twin, then. And yes, Simpson’s son. I think we’re close. And it’s three woods, not two. I think we’re close to getting Andy Wood.”
When is he ever sad? He’s always in a good mood, just not always hyper. He didn’t know why he was today, he just was. “I’m never sad! I have no reason to be! I’m turning good kids evil, I have a wonderful life!” Yes, he did. Ever since his dad disowned him, his life had been great! He was on top of the world. “I think that’s a Gryffindork,” he said, pointing at a student when they reached the first floor.

Shay looked at Albus for a moment with an all to innocent look on her face. Well actually it was a look that said he had just given her an idea. She hadn’t thought of Eddie and when he said she couldn’t go to him she gave him a glare. “Thanks for ruining a plan.” she said with a small smile. “I’d hadn’t even thought of Eddie to tell you the truth.” she said with a smile.
Shay had to laugh because she knew he was right at that. “True that.” she said with a smile. Even in cla*s they were found laughing and goofing off. Even Lorc didn’t mind her laughing with Sevvie mainly because he knew they were nothing but best friends. “Do you even have to ask me that?” she asked him with a smile on her face. “I would have thought you knew me by now!” She said as she would have sworn he knew her by now. “Which Professor would this be?” she asked him with a big smile on her face. She hoped it was the Ancient Runes. “Okay but don’t blame me when I laugh.” she said with a smile on her face. “Wow that is amazing. So we either have Dannie or close to having her. And almost got Andy Wood?” she said with a smile on her face. “Wow that would be what three out of five?” she asked him with a small smile on her face.
Shay looked at him for a moment with a smile on her face. “Yeah but you didn’t get Dannie to switch sides if we have her. I’m sure if it was Scor’s doing.“ she pointed out for a moment. She let go of his hand when they got to the first floor. “That is a Gryffindork and he’s out of bed and past curfew. I think two weeks of detention is called for!” she said for a moment. “Or a months worth of detention!” she said with a smile on her face as she grabbed his hand that he was pointing with. “And has your mother told you it wasn’t polite to point!” she told him a joking voice. “Anyways let’s go get him.” she said with a smile on her face.

Albus narrowed his eyes when he saw her expression. He had seen that look so many times before. He shook his head in warning. She better not use Eddie. He was just as good as he was at pranking and Albus would have a hard job getting her back if she used him. “You can use anyone in this castle, but you can not use Eddie. If you’ve never thought of him before, you’d have no trouble not thinking of him now. And besides, I think a little blonde girl would be quite jealous if you do think of him.” Now he was getting into gossip, but this seemed pretty juicy. Albus can’t know if it was true or not and couldn’t believe that Eddie would fall for a Huffie. He would spread it around, though. “She’d be jealous because you’d take up all his attention and he wouldn’t pay any to her.” He didn’t know if she was a jealous person. He didn’t know her too well. He just thought that most girls got jealous.
He laughed. He knew her very well, almost as much as he knew Callista. He only asked because he didn’t need Lorcan on his case about taking up his Shay’s time. He may not be too jealous of them, but it was pretty easy to tell he didn’t like all the attention the two of them spend together. “I asked so if Lorcan comes up to me and questions me, I can say that you wanted to do it. And the professor is Moretti, the ancient runes teacher. She just seems the best candidate for the job. We can come up with something good for her. After all, we got that teacher to quit one year.” Albus couldn’t remember the year that they got him to quit, but he remembered that prank. It had been the best yet. “You’ll laugh at me? Maybe I should dye your hair purple once when you’re sleeping. Then I could laugh at you or I could dye blonde again. Would you like that, Blondie?” He was just kidding. Though he knew ways to get up to the girls dorm, he wouldn’t actually dye her hair. She would kill him. “Anyways, it would probably have to be Dannie that talks her brother into joining the gang. They’re close. He’d listen to her, I’d bet.”
He gave her a confused look. He went over what he said in his mind? Did he say that he got Dannie to change sides? He didn’t think so. “I never said I did. It may have been Scor’s idea, but… how do we know that it isn’t the DA’s doing? Maybe they wanted a spy on us because they know we aren’t above spying on them. I was a spy for the gang last year.” Albus had no proof that she was a spy, but had no proof that she wasn’t. This was the first time where he spoke of his suspicion of her and he hoped that Shay didn’t tell others. There were gang members that trusted her, plus he’d have to deal with Crew and Scor. Albus didn’t need that. “Don’t tell anyone I said that. If I have Crew or Scor on my case about it, I’ll come after you. I mean it.”
“I was thinking more like eight months of detention, but you can make the call,” he said, laughing. Eight months might just be abusing the power. “And I’m sure she did, but any manners my parents taught me were forgotten about as I got older.” Any nobody would doubt that. As a youngster, he was pretty well-behaved. Albus read a lot back then. After getting into slytherin, he changed a bit and then a major change happened in his third year. “YOU!” he bellowed at the Gryffindor, who stopped what he was doing and looking up. “Past curfew, I see. What are you doing out here?” Albus crossed his arms and waited for someone else to speak.

Shay looked at him with a small smile. "I don't think I would have thought of him at all. And probably wouldn't ask him anyways. I'm sure he would be up for it but he seems to busy trying to ask that certain blonde girl you are talking about!" she said with a smile on her face. She had to smile though. "And if she has a problem about it she could just join the Gang!" she said with a small smile. "I'm pretty sure Eddie could talk her into it!" she said with a small smile. "But what would happen if she convinces him to quit?" she asked him for a moment. "We can't lose Eddie to some blonde. And that's saying something coming from me!" she said with a frown.
"Lorcan would just have to realize that our friendship is more like a brother and sister relation and besides I would say it was my choice." she said with a smile on her face. "I'm always up for a good prank." she said with a proud smile on her face. And it was true she was always ready for a prank. "So what's the prank?" she asked him with a curious smile. "Or is it a surprise?" she asked him with another smile on her face. "Actually no I wouldn't like that because I would retaliate and dye your hair your red and gold." she said with a smile on her face. "Gryffindor's house colors!" she said with a smile. "And she probably could too. He would do anything for her. He would jump off a bridge if it meant it could save her life." she said with a smile on her face.
"I never said you did either." she said with a smile on her face. "I wanted to see what you would say to that!" she said with a smile on her face. She wondered if it were true at the same time if they had taken a fancy for each other. It probably is being Scorpius though and usually things are right when it came to him. Well for the most part anyways. "Don't worry you got my word. Besides I know what you can do. And not only that but I know what Scor and Crew can do too." she said with a small smile.
"Eight months? Isn't that a little too much?" she asked him with a small smile. "I'm pretty sure if someone gave you eight months of detention you would be so mad at them for ruining your prank time!" she said with a smile on her face. "And a five weeks sound good to me." she said as they caught up to him. She heard Sevvie tell him to stop with just the word 'YOU' and she smiled upon that. And then she heard him ask him a question. Without waiting for an answer from the boy she decided to say something. "Well come on what's the matter cat got your tongue?" she asked him as she tilted her head to the right. "No cat got my tongue missy!" the boy told her. "I was just on my way to the bathroom!" he said looking a bit guilty. "I don't think so. I think you are off to find some food. Now scoot to bed and you got eight weeks of detention for that one mister!" she said with a small smile. "Anything to add Severus?" she asked him with a smile.

True that one. He really needed to ask her out. It was driving Albus up a wall, having to listen to him talk about her. He wondered if he was ever that bad when it came to a girl. He didn’t think so, but Louis and Eddie would know, though they would probably tell him he was just to tease him. Those two were always picking on him. “We’re not losing him. He wouldn’t piss me and Louis off like that. We’ll kick his arse. And I don’t think Lorcan would let her join the gang. Besides, she’s friends with Phoenix Goyle, the traitor. I doubt she’ll join the gang. But I hear she isn’t in the Army, either, so we don’t have to worry about Eddie.”
That’s exactly what they were. He once heard Louis call them the first set of twins born to different parents. He used to pick on him about their friendship, said that they were going to date one of these days. How wrong he’d been. Albus would be lying if he said that he hadn’t thought of it. He used to like her. In fact, before he asked Callista out, he’d toyed with the idea of asking Shay out, but he chose Callie instead. Maybe it was for the best. Shay belonged with Lorcan. They were such a cute couple. “I’m not sure what the prank is yet. You can help me come up with something.”
Yeah, he knew what they could do too. Not that he was afraid of them. Louis and Eddie would have his back if a fight ever did break out with them. Alex probably would too. “Not that I’m afraid of them. Louis and Eddie, and I bet Alex, for that matter, would have my back if I did get into a fight with them. I just don’t want to fight with them. One rule, never fight with Slytherins, unless if they’re like Pucey.”
“I have detention every day for something, so I’ve had it for eight months. Not too bad. I just find time to prank when I should be sleeping.” These days, he was doing his best not to do something that could get him caught because he didn’t want to lose his post. Some Slytherins counted on him to not get in trouble. He can’t lose his post as prefect, even if it was unwanted at first. Albus listened to Shay and then the Gryffindors response. Before Albus could say anything, the boy spoke again. “Just leave me alone, Slytherins. You don’t know what I’m doing. And I got something on you, too. You don’t do your job. If I were in Slytherin or the gang, you’d leave me alone, turn a blind eye. Don’t deny it, I’ve seen it.” Albus smirked. “Seen it? Well, you have us mixed up with somebody else. We get everyone in trouble. Now get to your common room at once!” He looked at Shay. “Double his sentence every time he opens his mouth?”

"Good because Eddie is a great guy to our gang and plus he's probably the closest to you out of all of your cousins!" Shayleigh said with a smile on her face. It was probably true on that as well. She was quite sure on that one. Come on they were like the twins in the family and she has seen them first hand act like brothers. "Every guy needs a best male friend just like a female needs a best female friend!" she said with a small smile. "And unfortunately for me I don't have a female best friends. All of my best friends are guys and that's you and Scor!" she said with a smile.
She looked at him for a moment. "Well nothing with Paint. Dannielle has that one covered up already." she said with a small smile. "Hey you know all of those ruins she has? Well maybe mix them all up and change the names out of them all. Get her desk onto the ceiling permentantly." she said with a smile on her face. "That sounds like a good plan and put all the desk into another room so it looks like an empty cla*s room!" she said with an hopeful smile. "What do you think of that?" she asked him with a smile on her face.
Shayleigh looked at him for a moment. "Come on do you really think I would snitch on you? How many times have we been in trouble with the Professors? How many detentions we have served together?" she asked him for a moment. "And we both blamed another person for our pranks because we knew how to lie! I'm not going to tell a soul. You should know that by now." she said with a smile on her face.
"I'm in the same boat except my time is almost up. I've only got a month left." she said with a smile on her face. She listened to what he told the Gryffindor and then what the Gryffindor had to say and just had shake her head and when she heard Sev say double his sentence for ever time he opens his mouth she nodded. This was going to be fun if he did. The Gryffindor opened his mouth at least once but decided to change his mind on speaking. "That's sixteen weeks mister now off to bed!" she said pointing towards the Gryffindor Common Room. The Gryffindor thought before he opened his mouth and just turned and walked in the direction. "Boy I'm beginning to turn into my mother!" she said for a moment. "That's scary!" she said with a small frown.

Albus wouldn’t say that he was the closest out of all of them. Eddie thought that and Louis thought that he was closer to Albus, but the truth was, he liked them both the same and didn’t consider any of them closer. “Louis thinks that same thing, Shay. He thinks he and I are the closest. They’re both close to me. Neither of them is closer to me than the other. I couldn’t have started the marauders without any of them.”
So Dannielle claimed paint. What else could they do? When he heard her idea, his mind went to work. They could do that and that would certainly be funny, but it would be easy for her to get the desk down from the ceiling and just as easy to put the runes back together and in their place. “It’s easy to put everything right, though. I don’t want anything that’ll be easy for them to put together again. But the creative juices are now flowing. It won’t be hard to come up with something.”
Snitch on him? He couldn’t remember ever saying that she would snitch on him. Albus knew that she wouldn’t snitch on him. No person would ever snitch on their best friend and besides, he could hurt her if she tried to snitch on him. “I never said you would. And I’ll hurt you if you try. I can trust you more than anyone else.”
“Oh, lucky you!” he said, shaking his head. “I’ve got the whole year left.” Albus won’t have freedom until the summer and then when he returned, he’ll probably have another year of detention. In fact, he wouldn’t be surprised if he came back as a teacher and he had detention that whole year to and not as the supervisor. Right, now he was just being silly. Albus watched her yell at the Gryffindor and just stood with his arms crossed and he laughed as the kid ran off. “I would’ve loved to yell at him some more. Let’s go find more people to yell at.”
