It was morning and he was making the breakfast. He’d given the house elves time off. He was a better cook than they were anyways. Now everyone would be able to see just how good that he was. They weren’t used to getting time off and they kept trying to help out. Phoenix didn’t need their help, but gave them small things to do. Being mean was something he was never able to do. Small, unimportant jobs made house elves happy for some reason. He was a house elf to his parents and he wasn’t happy doing their work.
He set eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, ham, Canadian bacon and a bunch of other stuff on the long tables, along with some pumpkin juice, and watched the house elves send them up through the roof. Phoenix sat down at the counter, with his own plate. He had things to think about for the army and didn’t want to have a bunch of people around. One important thing was that they needed a spy in the gang. Phoenix just didn’t know who it could be.
He couldn’t do it and neither could Roxanne. They would never pa*s for gang supporters and they had both made it public knowledge that they were army supporters. Nobody would believe differently. Plus, he didn’t want his parents to like him and they probably would if he joined the gang. He could send PJ Zabini in as a spy or even James. They could probably pull it off. Zabini more than James, but he didn’t know if Rox would like her crush in that situation.
Phoenix was lost in thought as he heard the portrait to the kitchen open. He didn’t bother looking up to see who it was. He didn’t really care. All the students should be in the great hall, so odds are, this person was up to no good.

James sat in the Great Hall and saw that Eddie was starring at him in a weird way. He wondered why Eddie was giving him an weird look and he couldn't figure out why though. Was he mad because he wouldn't quit the DA for anything even if their father had struck Albus and he knew now that was the truth. He disliked his father for that and that was for sure. He is still meaning to talk to their father about it but never seem to have the chance especially after the Minister of Magic had gotten beaten up. He wasn't sure who would do that but who knows these days. It could have been a warning and he knew though that Titus would not give up the position. He looked down the table looking at Dannielle Wood. They needed her back and they would hope it was soon.
When the food came up onto the table he saw what it was. For some reason he wasn't in the mood to eat in front of other people. Taking a plate of six pancakes and four sauges and a bit heaping pile of eggs and poured himself some pumpkin juice he grabbed his untenzils and walked out of the Great Hall. Wondering where he could go to eat at least to a place that doesn't have a few people giving him weird looks or murdering looks in the eye he would have sworn that Eddie was giving him those looks like he was going to die.
He then thought of the place where he could be alone but if there was someone else that would be great. He was actually hoping to find Phoenix. He wanted to talk to his best friend and the only guy whom he seems to trust at the moment anyways. Tickling the pear he opened the door very carefully and then walked in. He looked at the house elfs who gave him a weird look. "Stop looking at me in a weird way. Why is everyone giving me weird looks lately?" he asked himself. "Especially from my family which seems to be all in the Gang instead of the DA!" he said with a small frown and looked over that is when he spotted Phoenix. He walked over and placed his plate and goblet down on the table. "Hey Phoenix what's up?" he asked him with a smile on his face!

Phoenix looked up when he heard James talking about people giving him weird looks and chuckled a bit at it. He was used to getting weird looks. He got them all the time, along with being called a traitor and other names from people who didn’t like his sexuality. “Get used to it, James. I get weird looks all the time. You can’t let it bother you.” A person just has to learn to get used to it, along with everything that came with being on the good side in the middle of wartime. “Just don’t show that it bothers you. As for the elves, they are a little on edge because I took their job away from them this morning. They don’t want anyone else coming in and taking their job away. I was the one that made the breakfast.”
He wondered if James had heard that he was now talking to his adopted brother. It was sort of like that. Harry had invited him to live with them since the Goyles didn’t seem to want him. “Oh, James, have you talked to your father yet? I ran into him not too long ago and he invited me to stay with you since my parents don’t want me. I guess I’d be like your adopted brother now.” Phoenix took a small bite of his pancakes and looked back up at him. “But I wanted to talk to you about the DA.”
Phoenix began pushing eggs around on his plate as he thought about how to begin. “We need a spy in the gang and I’m not sure who to send in.” Lucy probably wouldn’t mind being a spy, but she was one that he didn’t know if she could trust. Her siblings were in the gang and she could always be a spy for the gang. “I was thinking of PJ Zabini, but I don’t know if Roxy would want him in that position. I can’t do it because nobody would believe that I would join the gang. But you can, as long as you can convince your family. Will you do it?”

James looked at him for a moment. "Okay do you get looks that makes you feel like you are going to be eaten alive?" he asked him for a moment. "It seems like my cousin Eddie has been giving me looks. Albus and Alex both hate me because I like my dad still even after he smacked Albus. Lily I have no idea what she's up to but I have heard that she quite the DA and now everyone is expecting something out of me and I think that is why the weird looks. They think I'm going to crazy next." he said with a small frown. "But I'll show them that I'm not going to go crazy or make them think I am crazy!" he said with a smile on his face as he took a bite of pancakes. "Goes figures that's what the do. For some reason most of my family hates me because I'm not going to quit the DA!" he said with a small smile. "I'm not going to quit. I love it!" he said with a smile.
"No I haven't but I've been meaning to talk to him about him hitting Albus even though I know he probably deserved it." he said with a small smile. He smiled even more when Phoenix said he was like an adopted son now. "Yeah I finally have a guy in the house around my age. I love it." he said getting a bit excited that it made the house elves jump. "Sorry guys!" he said looking at the house elves. "Hey I got an idea for you guys why don't you clean up around here and make it sparkly clean!" he said and the house elves went straight to work. "There they will be so busy! And speaking of the DA we have to get Dannie back." he said with a small smile.
"Whatever you don't send in Lucy. She wouldn't mind but that's only because her big sister is Molly and she's in the Gang. So she could be spying for them." he said not knowing that is what he may have been thinking about. "And I agree with PJ Zabini he would the best guy to send in but with him dating Roxy I don't see that happening because she wouldn't allow it." he said pushing around his sauage around on his plate. He thought for a moment. Would his siblings believe him. "I can convince my family I got the temper for it. But I may need my father for a bit of it but I'm going to fill him in so he won't think I hate him too. But privately where no one can hear and then I'll talk to Albus and Alex and tell them they win and I had quit the DA and want to join the Gang! How does that sound?" he asked him for a moment.
