Yes, Hallie had made her way out into the Forbidden Forest even though she knew it was a place where there were most likely spiders and she did not want to be around said creatures. However, she needed somewhere to be alone, or at least somewhere that she could practice her magic without the prying eyes of other people or her sister. The particular spell she wanted to practice was for her own selfish purposes in some ways and she certainly did not want to share the experience for the moment. It was one of the few things that she was not entirely willing to share with anyone just yet. It still surprised her, and, needless to say, now she had grown quite attached.
The only problem was, in her current mind state it was hard to be able to summon the spell at the power level it needed to become a solid form. She was not happy enough for it to come with the ease it did to some people once they jumped the initial hurdle of the fact that it was a difficult piece of magic. However, since she had learned it, it had not gotten any easier to perform. Well, that was probably because of the more depressing turns her life had taken since learning the initial phrase and needs of the spell.
So, standing in a clearing in the forest, wand raised, she prepared for the incantation to be said. "Expecto patronum!" she said, her voice strong and she called to mind a happy memory. The spell started to work, though not as fully formed as she would wish. It only came in the form of a silvery mist. She sighed, and the mist vanished, her happy moment disappearing. Her wand dropped for a few moments, and she tried to brace herself to try again. She needed to accomplish this.
"Expecto PATRONUM!" she incanted much more forcefully, thinking of the happiest memory that she could muster. Her family back when they had all been together, spending time as one happy family.
And the spell bloomed from her wand. At first a mist, but it took it form slowly as she held onto the thread of the happy memory. And it took its shape in the form of the threatening, dangerous Hungarian Horntail. She marveled at the sight of it, watching the Patronus that looked nearly identical to the one she'd seen her brother release in cla*s. "Patrick..." she muttered, and her resolve cracked. The magnificent beast vanished with what seemed like a roar, and she fell to her knees. Maybe this hadn't been such a good idea.
