Trying something new//Dannie and Kota

[Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy]

Scorpius put Luke down on the side walk before he knelt down and tucked a note into the collar then slipped the collar over Demon. He ruffled Demon’s fur before he got up and picked up Luke. “Demon, go home.” he said. He watched Demon run down the street before he turned and walked into the ice cream shop. He got a few bowls of ice cream, one for Kota, one for him and Luke and one for Demon. He knew by the time Demon and Kota got there the ice cream would be partial melted. He let the other bowls of ice cream melt as he held onto his son before he set his son to sit in a chair.

He glanced at the door a few times as he waited for Dannie and Dakota before he picked up the snot acceptable and took the melted ice cream and started to feed it to Luke. He watched Luke take some before he showed more interested in just playing with the snot acceptable. He let Luke take the snot acceptable and started to swing it around. He took the snot acceptable from Luke after a bit and started to give Luke some more ice cream before letting his boy play with the snot acceptable again. He went to take the snot acceptable from Luke but missed it when Luke dropped it on the floor. He got up and got a few new snot acceptables as he let Luke play with them. He ate some ice cream before letting Luke take some more. “Is it good? Do you like mine better?” he asked with a slight smile.

He took away Lukes fifth snot acceptable and put it down. “No more snot acceptables for you. You’ll get us both kicked out if you keep throwing them around.” He said as he took his and ate some of his ice cream. He looked Luke, “Who’s been teaching you to throw things?” he asked as he watched Luke before he gave Luke some of his ice cream. “Mommy, better get here soon or she’ll be able to drink hers, wont she.” He said as he took a napkin and wiped Lukes face. “Hopefully, your mother wont be too upset that you got all dirty and now your sticky.” He added.

Dannie had a craving for some ice cream. She also hoped that she would meet up with Scorpius at some point during the day. She walked towards the ice cream shop and walked inside and hadn't really seen a snot acceptable that was or at least had might have been thrown by a little child. She continued walking towards the counter to place her order of Mint Chocolate Ice Cream when she stepped on the snot acceptable and fell to the ground and the snot acceptable went flying and hit the clock that was on the wall. Getting back up pretty quickly she straighten out her hair once again and checked herself a bit. Cheeks red she let out a small smile and looked at the guy in charge. "Sorry about the clock." she mentioned.

She had decided to wear dark blue jeans with a red top and her hair was laying against her back. Walking up to the counter she ordered her ice cream. "Here is some extra for to the damage." she said giving a bit more. "Oh don't worry dear! Just eat your ice cream and enjoy your day! I'm pretty sure it was a little one who got that snot acceptable on the ground. You all right by the way?" the ice cream parlor guy asked her. "Yeah I'm all right. Thanks!" she said as she grabbed her ice cream and turned around and finally spotted Scorpius with a little kid.

Walking up to them and stood there. "Seat taken?" she asked Scorpius with a small smile on her face. Cheeks still a bit red from the fall just got brighter. She had hoped that he didn't see her fallen. She looked at the little one. "So is that Luke you've been telling me about?" she asked him for a moment as she took a snot acceptableful of her ice cream. She was quite glad though that he was there and had wondered who else was supposed to be there!

Scorpius glanced over when he heard the chimes and the door open. He smiled when he saw that it was Dannie. He was trying to get all the snot acceptables from Luke when he glanced over to see Dannie and the one on the snot acceptable. He knew that he couldn’t move fast enough to help her as he watched the incident that went on. He couldn’t help but smile as he watched her. He went around and picked up the few snot acceptables that was lying around from Luke. He glanced to the parlour guy before he went back to sit at the table with Luke. He smirked slightly as he stirred the ice cream with the snot acceptable as he replayed what he witnessed in his mind. He glanced to Luke who was laughing and clapping. He rested his other arm on the chair behind Luke before he looked up to Dannie.

He smirked, “Nice of you to make it. No that seats not taken.” He said, “Are you sure you’re alright?” he questioned. “I think you could have taken more damage than their clock.” He glanced to Luke who was trying to reach the ice cream. He quickly pulled the bowls of ice cream away from him. “You’ve done enough already Luke.” He said before taking the snot acceptable with some ice cream on it and feeding Luke. He smirked. “I know what to fix you with.” He said as he handed Luke a napkin. He turned his attention back to Dannie, “Yeah, this is my son. Lucius.” He said glancing to his son then back to Dannie. “Luke and I spent the day together while Kota got some-much-needed rest. She should be here soon. I sent Demon back to the manor. By the time she gets here, her ice cream should be the way she likes it.” He added before he took some of his ice cream.

“Kota has been struggling with her studies lately since Luke here has been keeping her up and busy.” He said, “so I figured that she could use some time to her studies and to her sleep.” He glanced at Luke and gave him more ice cream before he looked to Dannie. “I’ve been thinking,” he started, “Would you mind if Luke came with us? I’m sure Callie wouldn’t mind taking him for a bit so you and I can spend some time together but Kota needs some time without Luke here so she can rest up and catch up in her studies.” He explained.

Kota was curled up in her bed with books all round her when Demon had bashed though the door and barked loudly so that it would wake her up, and boy did it wake her for she jumped two feet into the air. Kota landed on the bed and blinked as she looked at demon and smiled “Do you always have to do that?” she asked before petting the dog on the head and took the note. “Okay boy give me two minutes and we can head back” she said as she got out of the bed before she moved towards a mirror and fixed her makeup and hair. Turning she smiled at Demon because he had pushed her door open for her, “Scorpius taught you well. Come on boy”

Leaving her room she started down the hall when she got to the stairs she stopped before turning back and entered her sons room picked up one of the baby bags that Mrs. Malfoy had gotten her before Luke was born and started to pack it with baby wipes , bottles, some diapers and his favorite blanket. Yes Dakota always over did it when she packs stuff to go but for some reason half the stuff she packed was used. Walking over to the dresser she picked out an outfit for Luke because she knew that he was going to be really dirty. Shaking off a yawn she tossed the bag over her shoulder and walked out of the room shutting the door behind her.

Walking in to the hallway she laughed as she saw Bana and Demon playing near the stairs walking pa*sed them and down the stairs she walked out of the house leaving the front door open enough for the two dogs to get out of the house after her. Sure enough when she was already half way to the ice cream place when the two dogs ran up to her and around her before laying down outside the ice cream place. Kota giggled and reached for the door before opening it and walking in.

There her eyes rested on her son all covered in ice cream and knew she was right to bring a outfit. Without saying two words to Scor or Dannie she picked up her son and smiled “I see Daddy has been letting you play with your food” she said in a calm tone. “Luke and I will be back” she stated as she disappeared in the bathroom where she changed his diaper and clothes before picking him up and kissing his cheek as she then returned to the table taking a seat in the other empty chair and set Luke lovingly into the baby chair that he was in before. Looking around the table she saw her ice cream and smiled “Just the way I like it” she said as she reached and pulled the cup near her as she started to eat it quietly.

Dannie smiled at him for a moment. "I'm glad that I made it too!" she said with a smile on her face. "Yes I'm sure I'm all right. And that clock does need a bit more damage but that's okay. If I want to break a clock or two or more I'll just run over to the clock shop and blow them to pieces too so then no one can tell the time!" she said with a smile on her face. She looked at Lucius for a moment. He sure did look like his father so she thought.

"He looks like you!" she said before she heard the door open and saw a brown haired lady came up to them and took Lucius to the rest room to get cleaned up. "So that must be Dakota!" she said with a small smile. "She seems to be a really nice lady!" she said with a small smile. She wasn't sure what to say about her though. But she had seen her around the school a bunch of times. But never really talked to her before.

She watched as she came back and sat with them. "Hi my name is Dannielle Wood." she said to Dakota with a smile on her face. "You got a really nice son there you know that!" she said with a smile on her face. Now why do I sound like I'm trying to impress her? she asked herself. For she had no idea why but hey who knows these days. She pretty much sounded the same way she had to talked to Scorpius in Moaning Mrytle's bathroom. She wished she could get that nerves out of her.

Looking down at her ice cream for a moment lost in thought. She surely truly was thinking of her mother but smiled at the memory she just thought of. In fact to think of it she may have been five when she and her mother came here. She wasn't exactly sure but she had broken that very same clock that year too except for the fact that she threw the snot acceptable at the clock so that her mother couldn't tell what time it was and she just started giggling without even noticing.

Scorpius smiled as he looked to Dannie and almost didn’t want to take his eyes off her but he did continue to glance to his son. He chuckled under his breath, “Yeah, the clock does need a little more work but I don’t think it’ll be today.” He said with a slight smile as he took her hand and kissed her hand gently. He glanced over when he heard the door. He smirked as Kota walked over, spoke to Luke and disappeared. He turned back to Dannie. He nodded, “Yes that is the beautiful Dakota, Lucius’s mother.” He spoke gently as he watched her. He looked back to Dannie, “I’ve been told that a few times about Luke, but I still think he looks like his mother.” He added. “Kota has her moments but she is nice.”

He glanced over to watch Dakota return with Luke. He stood up and offered Kota a seat with them before he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and kissed her tenderly on her cheek. “How you feeling Kota? Did you manage to get enough rest?” he questioned as he sat back down. He glanced to Dannie as he smiled at her. He picked out that she was trying to impress Kota. He glanced to Kota, “Got it when we came but Luke wanted to eat some of it. He doesn’t like your taste you know.” He said in a teasing tone with a smirk. “Luke had a lot of fun today at the park. Oh, kota I hope you were careful with his clothes. He had sand, mud and probably a few rocks in his pockets.” He added. “He also found a mud puddle.” He smirked, “he had a pretty dirty fun filled day. We did attempt to hose off-but-“ he glanced to Luke and smiled, “He didn’t really much part of it.”

He looked to Dannie and noticed the look on her face and the ice cream. “So, Kota, this is Dannielle. Dannie this is Dakota.” He said doing the introductions. He wasn’t sure how this was going to go over. “Did the dogs come?” he questioned as he pulled out a little extra change. He held it out to let Luke play with some of it when he reacted quickly in catching some as he went to throw it towards kota. “Don’t throw things at your mother Luke.” He got up and picked Luke up. “We’ll have a little man to man talk while I take some ice cream to the dogs. I’ll be right back.” He said before he kissed both girls on the head. He stopped by Dannie, “Just relax. Kota won’t do anything and I’ll be right back.” He whispered softly to only her and walked over to the counter. “Two vanillas.” He said as he paid the cashier. He took the two small ice creams in his one hand as he carried Luke outside.

“Demon. Bana.” He said as he knelt down to give the ice cream to the dogs. He glanced to Luke. “Don’t throw things at your mother Luke. Otherwise” he smirked as he played with the boy. “I’ll have to eat you.” He said in a silly tone as demon started to bark and Luke started to laugh. He stood up and walked back in to the ice cream shop as he flipped his boy right side up again only to put in his high chair. “So, What did we miss?”

Dakota was still tired but was doing her best to hide it she maybe got about 3 hours of sleep after she finished all the back work she missed from school. It had taken her days but she was finally done and would be able to move up a level next year. Blinking she realized that Dannie was talking to her, “Oh I am sorry I am still not awake, Demon didn’t give me much time to wake up” she said honestly and in a polite tone; Kota was nothing like Callista and didn’t have a problem with Dannie and was just happy that Scorpius had found someone that he like. If asked she would not lie for she still loved Scorpius very much but was not going to stop him after all he seemed happy. Turning to Dannie she smiled sweetly “Dannie my dear girl you do not have to try and impress me or anything like that; just be yourself okay?” she said with a smile there really was no reason to be scared of her, Lucius was here she was not going to yell or scream or hurt someone in front of her son. Plus Dannie didn’t do anything to warrant an attack.

Laughing a little at Scorpius she smiled “I got all my back work done for school and about three hours of sleep” she said as continued to eat her ice cream as she listened at all the things that Luke did at the park and laughed again “That explains the mud and rocks, yes I was careful, but do you have to let him get so dirty? You know how I am with dirt” she said softly. Shaking her head she sighed “did you sing to him while you washed him? It helps calm him.”

Dakota looked at Scorpius as if he was crazy “Scor are you deaf? Didn’t you hear her say her name? We both go to the same school I have seen her and know who she is” she said with a laugh to show she was not upset or mad but just trying to joke around. Glancing at Luke as he played with the coins she nodded a yes to Scor about the dogs “They are resting on the steps” she added as she ducked out of the way but smiled as Scorpius stopped the shot. “That’s my boy always showing that he is strong” she said with a smile as she looked up almost in shock as he kissed her on the head. Being a little confused she sat there in silence but decided to talk to the girl while they waited for him to come back.

“Dannie…Do you really like him? I mean you’re not going to hurt him are you? I care about him a lot after all he is the father of my son and I don’t want to see him hurt. God knows I hurt him; I just don’t want it to happen again” she said in a soft tone. Kota was soft and not all that mean when it came down to it. “Here is some advice on Callista, don’t piss her off try and be friends with her she is really sweet and just acts harsh to protect the family name. She is a scared and lost girl” she said just as Scor walked in and sat down.
